Welcome! My name is Sandra, I’m a homeschooling mom of two awesome kids. I’m a former public school teacher. I love learning, exploring new and interesting things, and sharing that with my children.

Our days are filled with Legos, good books, and often a great deal of laughter. We started considering homeschooling just before our eldest headed to kindergarten. We decided to give kindergarten a try for a few reasons, but after about 2 months realized that simply wasn’t the place for him. That’s all it took to set us off on our journey.

Now in our SEVENTH year of homeschooling, we do our best to remember to be flexible, patient, understanding and caring. As we all grow in these traits, life just seems to be that much more enjoyable and interesting.

Here at Picture of a Homeschool, I hope to provide insight into what homeschooling looks like for us (Hint: It’s pretty unique from year to year). Hopefully you’ll find some encouragement and useful information here.
